Summary: This scooter ROCKS! 2008-03-20
Comment: I had planned a trip to Disney World and to NASA for the Mar 11 shuttle launch with my two kids, 5 & 6, and a teenage family friend and my 72-yo mother who doesn't walk easily with arthritic feet, knees, hips and two flat feet. I know, I'm nuts! A week out I still hadn't figured out how I was going to get my stubborn, albeit adventuresome mother around without spending half my day waiting on her to walk everywhere. So as a Prime customer, I got this scooter in two days, just in time to depart to Florida. Mom said she "wasn't going to need it and wasn't going to use it!" Oh was she wrong!
After a disasterous first day trying to walk and finally letting me rent her a push wheelchair, she realized what a challenge this would be. She "tried out" the scooter on the trip to NASA that night and LOVED IT!!!
The Scootie's battery lasted all day long and even for my trips to the outpost (we stayed at the Disney campground) after a FULL day in the park with active youngsters! It was easy to assemble and operate. Best of all: My Mom is now a firm believer in expanding her world and maintining her independence with this scooter.
I was a bit hesitant about the weight limit because she is right at the upper limit, but had no problem, plus my 40lb son took several rides standing on the platform. Not recommended for safety reasons, but just shows how it definitely performed at it's max capacity.
Compact, easy to maneuver, powerful and well worth the price!
