You will go broke buying chalk,

My 9-year-old son bought the scooter with his birthday money. He already had a Razor scooter, but was excited about the "Graffiti" feature. When he first used it, he loved it. Like all Razor scooters, he was able to assemble it quickly out of the box. It came with 6 pieces of chalk, with a spiral cut in the cone shaped tips to fit into the scooter springs. After two short trips around the block, the first three were completely used up. Refills are available for $5 for a package of 6. That's $2.50 per use - this product will become very expensive with time. We tried fitting the scooter with Crayola chalk of the same shape, but without the spiral cut to twist them in - they didn't work. He is very sad, and is sorry he wasted his $50 of birthday money.

Almost, but not quite, a fine scooter,

From a strictly scooter perspective, it's a nice machine. Nice colors, works fine.
The drawback is the nonsensical chalk-drawing mechanism. As long as you have specially manufactured (and expensive) chalk, it's fine. But if you decide not to spend your money on chalk refills (and the chalk wears down FAST), the chalk holder is a serious nuisance. Pressing down on the unloaded chalk pedal will damage it. And even if you're not pressing down on it, the empty springs will rattle noisily on all but the smoothest surfaces.
The chalk holder CAN be permanently removed, but with great difficulty. If it could have been easily removed and ignored, I'd have given the scooter four stars.

I was skeptical about purchasing a chalk scooter for my grandson because he already has a razor scooter. I relented and I'm glad that I did. It's a lot of fun for him and it is well constructed. He wants to take it on vacation!
