I know these say 8+, but the smaller ones aren't as well built and we wanted something that would really protect our daughter when we removed her training wheels. My daughter is average size for her age, maybe even a little bigger than average. The elbow pads were huge and unwearable and I'm sure they will be for a few years. The knee pads were also too big, though not as much as the elbow pads. The elbow pads were not even worn and the knee pads were off after 15 min. Maybe in 4-5 years these will be wearable.

These are wonderful, well made, sturdy, comfortable. Perfect for the person who is too grown up for kids protective gear, but too small for adult gear. Highly recommend.

My grandaughter have a small problem putting on the pads because she is left handed. They look good on her and I am glad for the protection because she falls down quite a bit. They do the job and looks great too.
