The Go-Ped Story
Beginning in 1985, Steve Patmont, his wife Hannelore, and two sons Gabe and Tim launched Patmont Motor Werks, creators of the Go-Ped Brand of original folding motorized scooters. They began by building Go-Peds in their Pleasanton California garage for friends and family that just had to have one and it blossomed from there. Knowing the market opportunities were endless for their fun and safe, carefree design, the Patmont family secured a patent and began shopping their invention around to purveyors of yachts and personal aircraft as a light and portable alternative transportation device to extend transportation choices for various commuting and recreation uses.
The Patmont family introduced the patented Cantilevered Independent Dynamic Linkless Indispension (C.I.D.L.I.) in 2005. This revolutionary yet simple and extremely effective suspension system redefined the portable transportation market once again. Off-road enthusiasts and those simply wishing for a more comfortable ride can also experience the amazing benefits of these practical and portable Gopeds.
Today Patmont Motor Werks is the world leader in personal transportation and proudly produces the world's finest portable transportation devices out of it's "enlarged garage," a 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility in Minden, Nevada. The Patmont family has kept PMW strong by constantly innovating new and improved products. In addition to an excellent selection of scooters and carts, the introduction of the ESR750 pure electric GoPed scooter line in 2003 offers a zero emission transportation device for those wishing to reduce climate change, their carbon footprint, beat the rising prices of fossil fuel, and foreign oil dependence.

This review is from: Go-Ped GSR Sport Gas Powered City Scooter (Gloss Black) (Sports) Within 5 days of using this Go-Ped the pull start failed. The failure of the pull start caused an internal problem with the "kill switch" which made the problem worse. Patmont motors sent me to a local shop to get it repaired. All of this took about a week to get resolved. I recommend buying something like this from your local shop even if you have to pay a few dollars more. It is very time consuming to deal with Amazon and the manufacturer over the phone. You have to explain a lot and answer questions and wait for parts to be mailed, etc. It's much easier to take it into the store you bought from to resolve any warranty issues. Additionally, it wasn't until I actually paid for it and received a confirmation that the true return policy was clearly spelled out which is "not returnable". To Amazon's credit, they did give me a discount for all the trouble. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Go-Ped GSR Sport Gas Powered City Scooter (Gloss Black) (Sports) Not a bad scooter. Slow acceleration, strong frame, good speed, great gas mileage, and not too noisy. Personally a prefer the goped sport because it has better acceleration and is more fun to ride. The pull start will break eventually and the gears will need replacement. Also you need to tighten the chain sometimes. Otherwise I recommend it but if you have the money get something with air tires. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Go-Ped GSR Sport Gas Powered City Scooter (Gloss Black) (Sports) This is my first Go-Ped scooter and I love it. It's got just the right amount of power to cruse around the city. Great buy with a life time warrenty on the frame. Made in America means something to Patmont Moter works. I tested it out going up some steep hills and it takes them like a champ with only a little help. It gets great gas milage and is not that loud. I am going to add a few aftermarket parts though to make it more efficient. Like a real air filter, velocity stack, Exhaust, and larger fule tank. It's a two cycle engine that are easy to mantain and find parts for, If you have a gas weed waker it's almost the same concept. I only know the basics with 2 and 4 stroke engines but thats more then enough to mantain. Google provieds answers to things I don't know and their are go-ped communites online that are great resorces to mods and things you can do. Well worth my investment. |
