The Bell Fraction Bike Helmet offers the same skate-inspired styling of the Faction helmet in a youth size. Just like the Faction, the Fraction is dual certified for skate and bike use, and features the same tough ABS plastic shell for a low-profile fit. Other features include contemporary graphics and dual-density EPS foam.

I wanted to buy this helmet for my 3 year old daughter, but didn't know whether to get a small or X-small. So I found a website which gives the head measurements that correspond to the helmet sizes. Then I just Googled an inches to centimeters conversion site.
Sm: 51-56cm (20.1 inches - 22.0 inches)
Md: 54-59cm (21.3 inches - 23.2 inches)
Lg: 58-63cm (22.8 inches - 24.8 inches)
Going by the other sizes, I can GUESS that an X-small is probably going to be around 19 - 21 inches. My daughter's head measures at 50.8cm, so I got a size Small so she can grow into it. It is now May 9, 2011. Haven't I'll let you know by the end of the month whether or not it fits well, and adjust my rating accordingly!
UPDATE: We received the helmet, and I can't rave about it enough. She got the pink helmet with the blossoms on the back. It has white straps. The helmet's fit is *exact* in regards to the cm. There are three sizes of padding. The helmet...Read more

I bought Neon Orange Critters in extra small for my average sized two-year boy and it fits great (though I used additional foaming included in the package). My son loves his new helmet and even tried to sleep in it. The colors are very bright, exactly like pictured and the helmet looks very safe once adjusted.
UPDATE: it's been several months since we bought this helmet, and my son has grown quite a bit, so I had to use different padding to adjust the size. Just wanted to add to my review that the fact that Bell included different types of padding in the package really allows this helmet grow with your child without buying a new one every few months and years (I tried on the same model in size small, it fit great without additional padding)

We bought the PURPLE CRITTERS styled helmet for our son only to find that the INSIDE PADDING AND CHIN STRAPS ARE PINK. Perhaps we should have stayed away from this design because it says purple, but the picture looked like it would work for either a boy or a girl. Other than that, the helmet is great quality and fit. I just wanted to warn other shoppers.
